Password Protection for Smartsheet Forms

SmartSyncApp's Smart Form supports password protection so you can restrict form access to authorized users. When enabled, anyone opening the form link must enter the correct password before they can view or edit any data.

Why Password Protection Matters

Form links that update existing Smartsheet data carry security implications. If the link is shared or forwarded to unauthorized individuals, they could view or alter sensitive records. Password protection adds a defense layer that prevents unauthorized access even if the form link is exposed.

How It Works

During Smart Form setup, toggle the password protection option and set a password. When a user opens the form URL, they are presented with a password prompt before any data is displayed. Only after entering the correct password can they proceed to the reference field lookup and data editing steps.
