Attachment Mode for Camera Form

In addition to in-cell image capture, SmartSyncApp's Camera Form supports uploading photos as standard Smartsheet row attachments. Attachment mode stores the full-resolution image file linked to the row, accessible from the row's attachment panel. This is the preferred mode for regulatory compliance, legal documentation, and archival purposes.

When to Use Attachment Mode

Attachment mode is ideal when full-resolution photos are required for legal, regulatory, or archival purposes. Common compliance scenarios include OSHA safety documentation, insurance claim evidence, ISO 9001 quality records, and construction site progress photos required by contracts. Unlike in-cell images which are resized thumbnails, attachments preserve the original file at full device resolution.

How It Works

During Camera Form setup, select Attachment as the image storage mode. When a user captures and submits a photo, SmartSyncApp uploads the file as a row attachment via the Smartsheet API. The file appears in the row's attachment panel and can be downloaded at original resolution for audit or legal review.
