SmartSyncApp's Dynamic Dropdown uses Smartsheet webhooks to detect changes in the source sheet and push updates to destination dropdowns within seconds. This webhook-based approach means no polling, no scheduled batches, and no manual refresh. The moment a source value changes, destination dropdowns reflect the update.

How It Works

When you activate Dynamic Dropdown, SmartSyncApp registers a webhook on the source sheet through the Smartsheet API. Smartsheet sends a notification to SmartSyncApp whenever a cell in the monitored column changes. SmartSyncApp processes the notification, reads the updated values, applies filters and sorting, and writes the new dropdown list to each destination column.

Example

A warehouse team updates inventory status in real time. When a product moves from In Stock to Out of Stock, every sales order form across the organization immediately stops offering that product as a selectable option. When stock is replenished and status changes back, the product reappears in all forms.
