Technical Comparison
Compare Trigger Matrix with native Smartsheet and TriggerFlow. See why multi-column selective sync is better for complex workflows.
Step-by-Step Configuration
- Source & Destination
Select both sheets. Choose the Reference Column (ID) that links them.
- Trigger Condition
Define when the sync should happen (e.g., when "Stage" becomes "Closed Won").
- Column Mapping
Map multiple source columns to destination columns. Click "Add Mapping" for each pair.
- Validation & Logs
(Optional) Enable validation to ensure data matches dropdowns. Select an "Error Column" to log messages if sync fails.
Difference from TriggerFlow
TriggerFlow is for single-column updates. TriggerMatrix is for syncing whole records (e.g., moving a full Lead record to a Customer sheet).
Troubleshooting
- Infinite Loops?Avoid setting up two triggers that update each other (Sheet A updates Sheet B, which updates Sheet A).
- Partial Sync?If one column fails validation (e.g., text into a restricted dropdown), others may still proceed. Check your Error Column for details.
