Technical Comparison
Compare SmartSyncApp Task Forms with Smartsheet native forms. Feature table showing hierarchy support, security, and deployment options.
Before You Start
- Your sheet should have some hierarchy structure established (indented rows).
- The Primary Column is used as the parent selector.
Configuration
- Select Sheet
Choose the sheet with your project structure.
- Select Form Fields
Choose columns for the new task data (e.g., Task Name, Due Date, Assigned To).
- Save
The generated form will have a "Parent Item" dropdown at the top.
How It Works
When a user selects a "Parent Item" and submits, SmartSync inserts the new row immediately below the last child of that parent and indents it, preserving the outline structure.
Troubleshooting
- Parent dropdown is empty?Ensure your sheet has rows in the Primary Column. The dropdown populates from top-level rows.
